Walk into any supermarket or retail store today and begin to peruse the products on any one of the retail shelves, and you will find a wide assortment of similar jellies, peanut butters, canned goods, nuts, oils, and beverages. While those containers hold roughly the same volume of product, each is slightly different.  

Though interest in reusable packaging has been growing over the years, there have been challenges to scaling reuse systems. Collection methods are costly if you look to collect, clean and reuse CPG packaging containers as they exist today because current CPG packaging designs are linear. They focus on delivering the product safely to the shelf for easy, cost-effective consumption.

So how do we enable reusable packaging in such an environment so that it can scale in a cost-effective manner and also preserve the need for the packaging to deliver an exceptional customer experience of its brand? How can we create a solution that costs less to return than it does to ship new product to the store?
